LSE 2023/24 Academic Year Admission Data Announced 2024-03-05 11:17:56

Recently, LSE Planning Division released its latest application, admission, and enrollment data on the data visualization platform Tableau Public, including undergraduate, taught master's, and research-based master's programs, as well as application data from 2019 to 2024.

Today, the editor will take you to see the difficulty of applying for the "Goddess of Cold" LSE, as well as the specific majors with higher admission rates? What majors should be carefully selected?

Overall data

Note that the enrollment data for the 2023-2024 academic year released by LSE is as of March.

In the 2023-2024 academic year, LSE received a total of 26326 applications for undergraduate degree courses, with 1713 offers issued, resulting in an overall admission rate of 6.5%; A total of 29810 applications were received for the taught master's program, with 5806 offers issued and an admission rate of approximately 19.47%.

Chinese student data

Chinese students submitted 4019 undergraduate and 13626 taught master's applications to LSE in the 2023-2024 academic year. LSE has issued a total of 152 undergraduate offers and 1710 teaching oriented master's offers to Chinese students.

Popular professional application data

From the data released by LSE, it can be seen that besides media, most of the popular projects applied by Chinese students are in business, with management, finance, and accounting majors being the most popular.

Students who want to apply for LSE business courses should carefully consider their background and prepare a school and major selection plan.

In the 23/24 academic year, there were a total of 2248 applications for management majors! Becoming the major with the highest number of applicants from Chinese students this time, followed by finance (1521) and media and communication (1345).

Why is LSE difficult to apply for

LSE, founded in 1895, is a member of the League of London Universities. Together with Oxford University, Cambridge University, Imperial College London, and University College London, it is known as the "G5 Super Elite University" and is also a member of the Golden Triangle and Russell University Group in the UK.

Although LSE's QS ranking may not be particularly impressive compared to other schools in the G5, LSE is definitely not to be underestimated in terms of application difficulty.

The difficulty of applying for LSE is not without reason: apart from the unique geographical location in the center of London, LSE's ranking in specialized volleyball is quite impressive!

LSE has many disciplines ranked in the top three in the UK, such as geography, which ranks second in the UK; Philosophy discipline, ranked third in the UK by LSE; Sociology, LSE ranks third in the UK

If there is no professional ranking, the application difficulty will naturally not be low. Below are three master's majors with extremely low admission rates, and we advise you to choose carefully!

① Master of Strategic Communications (MSc in Strategic Communications)

It can be said that this is the most difficult major for LSE to apply for, and only about 30 people worldwide can receive offers for this major. The admission rate for Chinese students is even less than 3% (22Fall, the admission rate for Chinese students is only 2.69%)

② MSc Economics and Management

Last year, a total of 186 Chinese students applied, accounting for half of the total number of applicants. However, only 8 offers were issued in the end, with an admission rate of only 4.3%, which can be said to be very unfriendly to Chinese students.

③ MSc in Accounting and Finance

Last year, the total number of applicants was 1015, with Chinese students accounting for 648. However, LSE does not issue more offers due to the high number of applicants in China. The admission rate for Chinese students is about 14%, which is lower than the overall admission rate.
